Loud is coming near you as a leading figure in Quebec rap.
Montreal rapper Simon Cliche Trudeau first became known with the trio Loud Lary Ajust, formed with Lary Kidd and Ajust. His writing blends French and English, social observation, intimacy, and striking turns of phrase. He began his solo career with the EP New Phone, which includes 56K, before breaking through widely with his first album, Une année record.
Une année record received the ADISQ Félix for Hip-Hop Album of the Year and won the JUNO Award for Francophone Album of the Year. The project is certified gold, while Toutes les femmes savent danser reached double-platinum status, a first for a Quebec rapper. Loud later added Tout ça pour ça, Aucune promesse, and Douze sur douze to his catalogue. Songs including Nouveaux riches, Devenir immortel (et puis mourir), Fallait y aller, Jamais de la vie, Médailles, À ce que je sache, and Entre nous show his evolution. He has also collaborated with Cœur de pirate, Charlotte Cardin, Ariane Moffatt, Lary Kidd, Souldia, Statzz, and Rymz. Loud has also received the SOCAN Songwriting Prize for 56K and several ADISQ Félix awards.
