Tennis fans had a heck of a week at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal, in the Rogers Cup. After a colorful event, the Britain's Andy Murray who could raise the precious cup up in the air after having disposed of his opponent Juan Martin del Potro in the final.
One can say that the endurance of Andy Murray has been the key to his success. After seeing his younger opponent win the first set in a tie-break, Murray won the second the same way. It was not until the third round that the Brit was able to truly dominate, winning 6-1 facing a visibly exhausted Del Potro.

The exploits of Andy Murray - who beat Jeremy Chardy (36th), Juan Carlos Ferrero (29th) and Nikolay Davydenko (8e) before facing Del Potro - is all the more remarkable as he grabbed the second position in the ATP rankings, replacing the Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
This is the first time a tennis player placing himself between Nadal and Federer in the top 2 worldwide for over 4 years.
