Alouettes' undefeated streak continues

Montreal Alouettes vs. Hamilton Tigercat wins 21 to 08
23 July 2009 at the Montreal Percival Molson Stadium

The Montreal Alouettes have added a fourth victory in their perfect sequence. What should of been an easy gain was found, however, to be less obvious than expected: with a narrow victory of 21 to 8 dealing with Tiger-Cats in Hamilton.

As in the previous games, the Alouettes defensive unit has  muzzle the Tiger-Cats. Once more, the Alouettes have allowed no hit to the opposing team, who had just two touchdown.

And as usual, the offensive unit was slow to start, but this time, but they push the score at the second quarter. The Alouettes then recorded 18 of their 21 points.

The second game at home of the season marked the return of Jamal Richardson, who took the opportunity to catch 4 passes for a total of 91 yards.

His compatriot Kerry Watkins has been busier than he. Watkins completed 7 passes attempted by his quarterback, for a total of 93 yards.

The quarterback Anthony Calvillo was once again dominant, passing 30 of his 39 pass attempts. The crowd had for him a warm ovation for his 334th pass  in career, the same which allowed him to overtake Ron Lancaster to the best smugglers in the history of the CFL, and taking 2nd place.

Adrian Cobourne, for his part, managed 55 yards on the ground, making 15 races.

But this time, there is no doubt that Tim Burke and his team defense were the architects of this victory for the Alouettes.

With four wins in four games, the Montreal Alouettes are obviously in the lead with a total of points allocated significantly lower than that of seven other teams in the circuit (61, for an average of 15.025 points awarded per match).
