The dream season of the Montreal Alouettes is continuing this Saturday evening with a sixth victory in seven games. This time, the Alouettes easily disposed of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by a score of 39-12.
Anthony Calvillo enjoyed another strong game, by winning 24 of his 38 pass attempts for 269 yards gains.
Unlike the recent trend, the Alouettes offensive unit stood out early in the match this time. Calvillo passed 3 of his touchdown passes in the first half, allowing his teammate to seal a comfortable lead of 26-9 midway in the match.
The Alouettes did not see their lead evaporate, thanks to the considerable effectiveness of the defensive line that left nothing but crumbs to the Blue Bombers throughout the match.
After registering an impressive shutout facing the Toronto Argonauts last week, the Alouettes defensive unit has not allowed this time any hit of the opponent.
In total, Ben Cahoon and Kerry Watson were the targets of Calvillo, each caught 5, while Jamal Richardson caught 4.
On the ground, Adrian Cobourne once again excelled, completing 11 runs for 49 yards.
