Impact gives themselves room for maneuver

Always  at  the hottest moment of a very tight race of  the playoffs, the Montreal Impact gave themselves some room for maneuver by adding 3 more valuable points in the classification. The Montreal Impact took advantage of a home game against an opponent who crumbles to the base of the USL standings to win 2-0.  

This however was not the biggest game for the Impacts.

With multiple errors, the Impacts were lucky to be facing an inferior team, however they dominated them by a total shots of 16 to 4.

Cédric Joqueviel opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when he beat no less than four players to finally slide the ball behind the goalie of the Aztex, Nick Noble.

Later, around the 55th minute, Roberto Brown and Bernard Keiron both came very close to add to the score as Brown was rewarded with penalty spot kick. His shot hit the crossbar and the rebound fell to Keiron who could not find the back of the net with his header.

During stoppage time, Peter Byers found his way through enemy defenses to register the insurance goal, his second in as many games.

With this victory, the Impact remains in sixth place, maintaining a slim point of lead over the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Montreal Impact is getting closer, however they are two points behind the Rochester Rhinos who are fifth on the table.
