50 for the Montreal Alouettes vs. 16 for the Edmonton Eskimos
Percival Molson Stadium (Montreal) - Thursday 9 July 2009
Montreal Alouettes celebrated their return home in
adding an easy victory in their case. For their second official match of the
season (and their first at Percival Molson Stadium), the Alouettes has give
a strong correction to the Edmonton Eskimos to win by a score of 50 to 16.
The Alouettes defensive unit did the job at the beginning of the match,
while the offensive took some time to start.
It was during the second half that the Montreal team was started, including
an impressive collection of 34
points in the fourth quarter to widen the gap and put the match way of reach
for the Eskimos.
At the fourth quarter, SJ Green has done a great job in replacement of Jamal
Richardson. In the fourth quarter, Green completed a superb catch on a pass
of Anthony Calvillo to successfully hit and the lead for its own.
As usual, Anthony Calvillo has shone, making 343 yards by the pass for 2
touchdown passes and 1 hit on the ground.
Larry Taylor has also managed an impressive return kick of 68 yards for a
touchdown record.
To add insult to injury, Corey Hucklack intercepted a pass from the opponent
and completed his course for his first touchdown pass in the CFL. With the
successful transformation of Duval, it was now 50 to 9.
The Eskimos have lessened the humiliation by passing a least a touchdown
with just a minute to make the match. It was the first hit of Whitlock
career, but in these circumstances, the celebrations were short.
