After two victories in the preseason’s games, the Montreal Alouettes continued their momentum with a first victory in the regular season. The team of Marc Trestman has avenged its heart-wrenching defeat in the final of the 2008 Gray Cup winning facing the Calgary Stampeders at home.
The Alouettes have started the match on the ground wheel. Kerry Watkins and Avon Cobourne have registered a touchdown in the first quarter, while Damon Duval booted 2 successful field goals.
Having given nothing to their opponent, the Montreal Alouettes led convincingly by a score of 20-0 after 20 minutes of play
The Stampeders then put the machine on, and returned gradually to the match. At the half time, the Alouettes were still a head, but their lead was narrowed (27-17).
The rise of the Stampeders continued until the Stampeders equalize the mark in the third quarter, 27-27.
The next Kicks of the field goal, the Alouettes have dug a slim lead of 33 to 27 in the fourth quarter, but the Stampeders did not give up.

Cox big hit
While the Alberta team was more and more threatening, less than two minutes from the end of the game, Chip Cox has managed a a great hit by recovering a escaped ball by Stampeders quarterback for a touchdown pass. Montreal Alouettes found themselves then with a lead of 39-27 with very little time to do, which made the task difficult Stampeders.
The Alouettes have held out until the end of the cadran to make the 150th victory since their return to the CFL.
It was a busy night for Damon Duval who has been called upon to make 6 field goals (successfully) and 9 sending kicks. Ben Cahoon and quarterback Anthony Calvillo were also up for the task & shown the height of their talent by allowing the
