Alex Kovalev leaves the Montreal Canadiens and joins ... the Senators!

Monday, July 6 2009 4:31PM

The Ottawa Senators announced today the hiring of the right winger Alex
Kovalev for the next two seasons.

If the Director General of the Montreal Canadiens Bob Gainey had cross over
Alex Kovalev, he probably hoped not having him in his way. That will
probably be a very bad news for him and his team since the artist is moving
at 200 km to the east and will cross swords with his former team 8 times per
season.

We remember that Alex Kovalev was the first scorer of the Montreal Canadiens
in the past two seasons. In 2007-08, he had gained 84 points (35 goals)
after a season out of the ordinary (his second best offensive season in
career). Last season he had lost momentum, however he recovered with 65
points to his record with 26 goals.
