Andrei Markov declined to wear the C and become the captain of the Canadiens
The Gazette argues that the defender of the Montreal Canadiens, Andrei Markov, declined to be labeled as the Captain of the team.
The Russian, who wore the A as assistant captain during last season, was apparently approached by new coach Jacques Martin to wear the C this season.
The Gazette adds that this decision is not a surprise given the rather discreet nature of Andrei Markov and also the considerable pressure of being the captain of the Montreal team.
