The return of the American group Blink 182 took place yesterday evening when the trio gave their first concert of their tour at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Blink 182 will be on the road until October 3, and will perform over fifty times in various North American cities, including Montreal (Bell Center) on Friday August 7.
According to several sources report ; the guys from Blink 182 haven’t lost their edge as a trio, after four years being apart.
James Montgomery of MTV points out that the "group meeting was crazy, noisy and small, but certainly not nostalgic," while The Rolling Stone emphasizes of the drummer Travis Barker (who has came close to death almost a year ago in a tragic plane accident). "(Barker) is not only back on his feet, but he also remains a beast on the drums. He attacked the drums as if it had insulted his mother, "said Gavin Edwards, who was also on site.
If the songs grid from this first show is an indication of what they will offer in Montreal, the fans of Blink 182 will probably be delighted. The group drew mainly in its last three albums Enema of the State, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and the eponymous album of 2003.
No new song has been made, however, even though the group claims that they will record a new album after the tour.
