The British group Coldplay seems to have paved the way for the future of digital pay music distribution. Coldplay would have reached the mark of one million legal downloads of their albums in North America, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
In addition, another two million legal downloads were registered outside the United States and Canada. This includes the four studio albums the group, and the Prospekt's March EP and live album released in 2003.
Coldplay is therefore the group that has most likely sold more downloads in the world, in addition to having offered their fans a live album for free
