Lucian Bute knows the time and his opponent for his next title defense. Bute will face Edison "Pantera" Miranda (33-4-0 29 KO) at the Bell Centre, in Montreal, on April 17th, 2010.
This will be Lucian Bute's first title defense in Montreal since the controversial Lucian Bute vs Librado Andrade fight in October of 2008.
The Pantera
Bute will have to be careful. Edison Miranda is an experienced fighter who's still looking to win his first IBF title. Miranda had one shot in the past, against Arthur Abraham, back in 2006. Miranda lost by unanimous decision, even though he broke his opponent's jaw with a legal punch in the middle of the fight.
Miranda is the only fighter though who can claim victory over the "Ghost Dog" Allen Green (in 29 bouts), in 2007.
His last match was on October 22nd, 2009. Edison Miranda quickly defeated Mexican fighter Francisco Sierra in less than 3 minutes.
