The Habs finally got the defender who they were missing in Paul Mara. The 29
years old, Mara will fill some gaps in the defense by providing some
experience (he played 10 seasons in the NHL) and also have an imposing
physical presence with his size (6 feet 4 inches, 212 pounds) and robust
style Game.
Free agent since July 1, Paul Mara has played the last two seasons with the
New York Rangers. Last season, he accumulated 21 points. His best offensive
harvest dates, however, for the 2005-06 season when he had counted 15 goals
and amassed 32 assistance entries in 78 games in the uniform of the Phoenix
Coyotes.
The contract is for one year, but no details are yet known in terms of
wages.
