According to Cyberpresse, the festival of music and arts Osheaga have reached the milestone of 45 000 tickets sold, exceeding the Gillett Entertainment Group.
Nearly 30 000 people had crossed the turnstiles of the Jean-Drapeau Park to attend the performance of Coldplay and a multitude of other artists on Saturday August 1st.
Not surprisingly, the attendance of the site was less important for this Sunday. With the loss of the top billing group (the Beastie Boys) and the poor temperature, it had to be expected.
The organizers still believe that more than 15,000 music lovers have come to Jean-Drapeau Park to see Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rufus Wainwright, Tiga, The Ting Tings and more.
Last year, for the third edition of the Osheaga festival had attracted 26 000 spectators over two days, which had raised serious doubts about the appropriateness of long-term Osheaga.
