It is now confirmed: the world number 2 Rafael Nadal will make his return to tennis in Montreal as part of the Rogers Cup, which will be held at Uniprix Stadium from 10 August.
Bothered by knee injuries, Rafael Nadal was absent from the ATP circuit since his participation at Roland Garros last May. He was then defeated by Robin Soderling in the eighth round, to everyone's surprise.
Rafael Nadal was later declared to be forfeited from the tournament at Wimbledon in early July, after having reached the final of this tournament three years in a row. He also won top honors at the 2008 editions, allowing him to reach world number one spot.
Given his absence at Wimbledon this year and the victory of Swiss Roger Federer, Nadal fell to second rank in the world, leaving Federer to take his place.
