They continue to win the Rogers Cup in Montreal. Andy Roddick (5th in the
world) and Juan Martin Del Potro (6th in the world) both won their third
round match to reach the 8th round.
Having surrendered the first set to his opponent, Victor Hanescu, by a score
of 6-3, Del Potro came back into the match to win the other two rounds 6-3
and 6-4. He will now face the winner of the match between Rafael Nadal and
Philipp Petzschner.
Andy Roddick, won his duel with opponent Fernando Verdasco. Having won the
first set which was hotly contested in a tie-break, Roddick saw Verdasco
break his service to defeat him in the second round 6-4. Roddick then took
the third which was as hot as the first.
Therefore Roddick joins Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals.
