Tennis player Aleksandra Wozniak, from Quebec, now knows whom she will deal with in the first round of the Wimbledon tournament. The Blainville girl's face the 50th player in the WTA ranking: Italy's Francesca Schiavone.
If she were to advance in the tournament, Wozniak would not have to face series main players before reaching the third round. She could then face Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli, who had to abandon the semi-finals in Eastbourne because of an injury to her thigh.
For her part, Stéphanie Dubois will face Sara Errani (41e) in the first round.
Also in the women tournament, the sisters, Venus and Serena Williams, will not be found in the same half of the board, which could lead to a final between the two sibling’s stars.
Among the men, the world champion Rafael Nadal still has not officially announced whether or not he would take part in the tournament. If he decided to participate, the Spaniard will not have an easy task facing Lleyton Hewitt, Wimbledon champion in 2002, in the second round.
With this card, the table is set for a tournament with generous twists!
